Crack Clat is valued as the father of all the law entrance exams. So, if you are interested then stick around and get yourself updated with little more information about it.
WHAT IS CLAT?
The full form of Crack Clat is COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST. The examination is conducted on a national level to get entrance in the top 22 law universities of India. The association of 22 National Law Universities conducts the examination one by one. Not even these 22 universities but also some of the other esteemed ones make admissions based on these scores.
Who is eligible?
The people who appear for the exam must have to be INDIAN, including the NRIs. The foreign citizens interested in any of the courses can contact the university having reserved seats for the same.
The exam allows admission in the UG AND PG COURSES.
UG courses
- The aspirant must have achieved a minimum of 45% in 12th, and the qualifying percentage for SCs/STs
- is 40%. The exam has no upper age limit.
PG courses
- The student must have a minimum of 50% in the recognized university and 45% for SCs/STs.
- The students who gave a supplementary exam will have to achieve 55% to become eligible for the exam.
Exam pattern
The exam is for two hours and is an offline test
where the candidates have to solve 150 questions in total, which are distributed among five sections.

The questions are in paragraphs where each paragraph consists of 5-6 questions. The marks distribution among different sections is as follow;
English – 30
Quantitative techniques – 15
- Current affairs, general knowledge – 37
- Logical and
- Legal reasoning – 30 and 38 respectively
The marking scheme will also have a negative marking; hence 0.25 marks will be deducted each time you attempt a question wrong. However, each correct answer rewards a mark.
How are the placements made?
The aspirants are required to fill the preference list where they can place the college names as per their preference. Based on the list prepared by the student and the rank he/she has obtained, the placements in the colleges are made all the NLUs have different Crack CLAT cut off marks. The state government establishes the different NLUs, and so the domiciled candidates are given reservations.
