I accepted without hesitation when I received the email offering us a couple of days in the Seychelles Resort. Yes, I’d like to cross off “remote island country” from my bucket list. I was headed to an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Africa, after weeks of keen anticipation.
The magnificent Story Seychelles Resort, one of the best beach resorts in Seychelles was part of my rollercoaster itinerary. Here’s a glimpse at my time at this lovely hotel.
Check-in:
Being a naive visitor on the beach at Beau Vallon had been a long morning. I arrived just after noon, packed to the gills with the largest burger I’d had in years. It was a hot and steamy day, and all I could think about when I got there was, “Where on earth is my room?!?”
My suitcases were to be put precisely where the driver had left them: in the center of the driveway! What’s going on? Is that the case here? Yes! That’s right there! The staff escorted me to the lounge and handed me a nice hand towel to clean down my hands with.
We took a short walk to the room after quickly exchanging my passport for room keys. Beachfront, ground floor. When visiting one of the resorts in Seychelles, what more could a lady ask for?
Room:
My room was fantastic. Spacious. With the white and blue design, it’s light and airy. It was straightforward and refreshing. The room shouted “green,” “sustainable,” and “environmental friendliness.” Local and foreign channels were available on the television.
Who, on the other hand, travels to a Seychelles honeymoon resort to watch TV? The huge bed was exactly what I needed at the time, but the thrill of strolling out the patio doors, through the yard, and onto the beach was too much to bear! I threw everything away, changed into my bathing costume, and dashed onto the beach.
Food:
Dinner in a nutshell? Spectacular. On arrival, the ambiance screamed romantic dinner. The red lighting complemented the wooden design, making it even more appealing. I ordered a platter of fish for obvious reasons.
Fresh seafood is pricey where I come from, and not for the faint of heart! I had to take advantage of the plethora of delicacies that had just come from the boats! Salads and carbohydrates were available at a buffet. Everything is available, including rice, pasta, and lasagna.
The cuisine was delicious, and you could tell the chef took great care and precision in preparing each bite. Dessert consisted of the typical suspects but presented in a sophisticated manner.
To be honest, I had no idea what any of the desserts were called after looking at them all. Who cares, though? I tried the majority of them, and they were all great.
Breakfast is at the main restaurant, Vasco da Gama Restaurant, named after the Portuguese explorer and creator of the Seychelles, is the ideal place to start your day with a full breakfast or end your day with a hearty meal.
The cuisine was excellent. Breakfast was served buffet-style, as it was in every hotel. Cooks were present and ready to prepare whatever extra we requested.
Location:
Located at Beau Vallon Beach, one of Mahè’s most opulent neighborhoods, approximately 10 minutes from Victoria (the capital), 5 minutes from Morne Seychelles National Park, and 20 minutes from the Seychelles International Airport.
Beau Vallon Beach is the only year-round swimmable beach in Mahe, with 3 kilometers of white sand and blue water. Their Boutique Resort features a natural coral just 50 meters from the beach, making it one of the best wedding venues in Seychelles.
This secluded tropical island hideaway is ideal for a vacation wedding or honeymoon. STORY Seychelles Resort is the ideal romantic getaway and a premier wedding and event location in Mahe, Seychelles.
When one thinks of a tropical island, images of clean ivory shorelines, a blue ocean, and a lush green backdrop come to mind. This is exactly what you can expect at STORY (Seychelles), the ideal location for making your dream wedding and vacation a reality.
There are so many aspects of this place that I adore. I would highly suggest this hotel to anyone visiting the Seychelles.
