The first-person narrative from law student Mike McDermott (Matt Damon), who loses his funds to Russian club owner Teddy KGB (John Malkovich). The Worm can get Mike back into the game in minutes. When she finds Mike has returned to poker clubs, she leaves, and he loses interest in school. Grama (Michael Rispoli) demands Worm’s jail debt. Mike indulges and pays Worm’s debts. When Grama demands $15,000 in five days, the two friends embark on a non-stop, no-sleep gambling frenzy that leads to a showdown with Teddy KGB.

Casino Royale

James Bond (Daniel Craig) has just upgraded to 00 ranks and starts on his first assignment, in which he takes on a mysterious private banker to global terrorism and poker player, Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen). As part of a high-stakes poker game organised by Le Chiffre to collect a large amount of his customers’ money, Bond joins Treasury Agent Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) and the MI6 man in Montenegro. Not only will 007 learn about the dangerous organisation that stands behind his foe, but he will also learn the terrifying lesson of them all: never to trust anybody.

Lucky You

Huck Cheever, a Las Vegas poker player, is intelligent and prone to letting his emotions get the better of him. There are just a few days before the World Series of Poker, and Huck is scrambling to raise the $9,000 entrance fee. He wins and loses as he attempts to do so, and he borrows and steals from Billie Offer, a kind young lady new to town who happens to capture Huck’s attention. To make matters worse, Huck’s father shows up, whom he resents for abandoning his mother, a renowned poker player who has come to town to win. Can Huck change the way he lives and the way he plays poker at the same time?

Maverick is a reincarnation of the character established by James Garner for a 1950s television series. Rather than battle, Maverick is a gambler who prefers to scam people rather than fight. To play in a Winner Take All poker event that starts in a few days, he needs an extra $3,000 in his bank account. He does it upbeat to win some, collect some debts, and reclaim a little money for the prize. He teams up with a Southern-accented lady gambler as they both strive to get into the game. 

Shade

Set in Los Angeles, Shade features a few poker hustlers as they work the nightclubs and martini bars. The plot thickens when a bunch of hustlers meet “The Dean” and pull off a spectacular sting that leads to the chase of a furious mobster.
